Standard: Considered the ‘original’, the Standard Girafarig originated in the Johto region. Preferring plains and loose bush, they are the most commonly seen and owned. Their watchful and nurturing nature makes them good companions for children.
Plains: A more wild variant, Plains Girafarig live almost exclusively on the savannah. Traveling in small herds, they are known to be aggressive and stubborn, violently lashing out at anything they perceive as a threat with both heads.
Polar: Found only in areas that experience snowfall all year round, in addition to their pale colouring, they are notoriously difficult to encounter. Both genders grow antlers, with the males’ usually more impressive, and shed them towards the beginning of Summer.
Jungle: Recently discovered in the depths of the dense jungle surrounding Fortree City, precious little is known about this variant. They are suspected to live solitary lives outside of breeding season, and their horns are shortened and blunt to avoid getting caught in thick vegetation.
Shorthorn: With perhaps a bit of a misnomer, the Shorthorn is a mountainous variant of Girafarig that is commonly used for labour and travel purposes. Despite the threatening horns, they are steadfast and friendly, making them a favourite among rural communities and farmers.
Lucky: (Shiny) Amicable and loving, Lucky Girafarig are quick to grow attached to their trainers. Their rarity and unique coat mean they are highly sought after, and competition to obtain a single egg is fierce.
First in hopefully a full set of a Phantom Thieves/Pokemon Crossovers. In this verse they’re still chasing baddies, and people still think they’re the baddies, and Akira just wants all of his friends to be happy while ignoring running from all his own problems.
When I was a kid, I loved pretending my friends and I were Pokémon trainers. We would battle each other, catch wild Pokémon, we would even bring our injured Pokémon back to the Pokémon center (the swingset). One thing that always intrigued me, was where you could find different species of Pokémon. My friends and I always knew that to find ground Pokémon, you would look by the sandbox, and to find grass Pokémon you’d go into the bush.
Over time, my love for Pokémon or the outdoors hasn’t changed. Now, I’m in college, studying environmental technology and biology, and of course, still playing Pokémon.
Because my knowledge of biology and ecology has bloomed, I have recently decided to write some posts hypothesizing where different species of Pokémon could be found in our world if they were actually real.
I choose a specific biome, which is a type of environment that shares similar characteristics across the world (deserts, tropical rainforests, etc) then try to estimate what Pokémon could potentially be found in that biome.
I only choose a few Pokémon for each post, but I always try my best to explain my theories as to why that Pokémon would be found in that specific biome. I use the Pokémon’s morphology, abilities, typing, biology, Pokédex entries, and what the Pokémon is designed after from the real world to support my theories.
Below you can find links to all of the Pokémon in our Biomes posts I have written so far:
Of course, these are only the ones I have written so far. There are dozens of biomes, and hundreds of Pokémon species. I will not cover all of the species, but there will be more posts to come as I am constantly writing and thinking of new ideas.
I hope these posts entertain you as Pokémon has always entertained me. Obviously any comments, recommendations, opinions and suggestions are always encouraged, but please remember to credit these posts if you reuse them.
Enjoy!

New biome posts coming soon! Some Part 2′s and new biomes, but I will try to include the new Alolan Pokemon.
Welcome to JTV Pokecenter! Please ensure your pokemon are in a carrier, on a leash, or in their pokeballs at all times. Thank you!
Your friendly neighbourhood veterinary clinic is probably the closest thing in real life to a pokemon center, eh? So here are some pics of a few of my patients re-imagined as pokemon. I’ve been meaning to do a mashup like this for a while, but now seems a particularly relevant time.
(And if you ever visit our little clinic with your real life critters, I’ll check out your pokemon as well for free! ;) )
I‘ve had these witting around for ages and I only just got to finishing them so enjoy some Tyrunt species! (Only applicable if the mother is Tyrunt/Tyrantrum).
