Things we see in Crisis Core that show Zack’s love for Cloud.
1: Zack dying to protect Cloud.
2: Zack protecting comatose Cloud for over a year.

Things we aren’t shown but defiantly happened.
1: Zack having to wash and change Cloud over the course of the year.
2: Zack cutting Cloud’s hair the way he likes it.
3: Zack feeding Cloud three meals a day, sometimes having to forgo a meal himself because he couldn’t get enough food.
4: Zack Having to massage and exercise Clouds muscles to prevent Atrophy.
5: Zack having to help Cloud go to the toilet.
6: Zack having to make sure Cloud is protected from the elements whilst they sleep.
7: Zack crying because he misses Clouds voice, and because he isn’t sure that Cloud will ever be the same again.

I’ve made Cloud look more like an awkward teenager than his beef-cakey self from the previous design, simply because when he joined soldier he was at the tender age of 15 or so and then he was stuck in a tube for 7 years and didn’t really get his normal dietary intake of nutrients and didn’t really… age. Mentally, emotionally, physically…. So he’s a bit on the scrawny side, although he’s been infused with Mako energy…so he’s kind of got a mako-powered super strength going on. These expressions are all from the earlier parts of the story, when he’s still an emo git and hates the world. I figured the one smile in this image is when he’s interacting with Aerith at some point. He also has a more interesting nose than before.
Look look I drew tifa too. I think it’s the first time i have EVER drawn her. I decided to go the route of Monk x Terrorist / Rebel for her, because that’s supposedly what she is (with a cover of being a bar owner). In my head she’s pretty much her own bouncer xD You don’t pull shit in 7th heaven. I also pictured her a bit more emotionally hardened from her experiences, having lived through her entire family being slaughtered and then being thrust into the unwelcoming underground of Midgar. I guess she’s probably happiest when she’s punching people. xD Oh and I ditched the mini skirt / belly shirt ensemble for something that more closely resembled her AC outfit (despite the AC outfits being TOTALLY off topic and devoid of any feeling or historical period). I wrote it off in this design as being an old soldier uniform she jacked and modded, or possibly a uniform that AVALANCHE as a group stole from the government.
