aaa you've given me too much power. I WANT ALLEN!TWINS (when don't I tbh) ASSSS uhmm either Hunters! (On a job gone wrong or begrudging Halloween) or Werewolves! And not the super lame SPN werewolves, I mean the kind when they turn into giant man eating wolves.

    smittenvigilantes:

I HAD NO IDEA YOU LIKED ALLEN!TWINS. THIS IS A COMPLETELY NEW THING THAT I AM JUST LEARNING FOR THE FIRST TIME RIGHT NOW. (Okay, I might be playing up the sarcasm a little) SO. OKAY. HUNTERS IT IS. (I just went for job gone wrong, to be honest. Or, kind of. You’ll see what I mean.)

It all starts when their mother is murdered when they’re 11 years old. They have no idea, at the time, what the creature is. For all intents and purposes, it looks human – but the eyes. The eyes are black. No whites, no irises – just complete blackness all over.

Of course, no one believes Sebastian or Barry when they scream this to the police as their dad is being put into handcuffs and marched out the door, charged with the murder of Nora Allen.

They’re taken in by Joe West. He is a kind man – loving, and he does his best to raise the two boys as his own, alongside his daughter. For the most part, it’s great, but Joe, like everyone else, doesn’t believe the story that the twins tell him surrounding their mother’s death. All they have is each other, in that respect.

Eventually, as they approach the age of 15, they begin their research  - collecting newspaper clippings, stories from the internet – anything they can find, really, that suggests that supernatural creatures exist.

They end up tracking down a lead one day – something to do with a black-eyed woman killing people in the next town over. They don’t say anything to Joe, of course, which is pretty damn stupid, considering that they literally have no idea what they’re doing and manage to get themselves captured. The demon is seconds away from possessing Barry, Sebastian screaming and begging her to take him instead as he’s restrained by an older-looking male demon, when a bullet is fired right through the demon’s head from behind them, quickly followed by a bullet to the other demon.

In runs Joe – and as confused as the twins are to see them, they’re so fucking relieved. It’s not until later when they’re back home safe and sound (and grounded, of course) that Joe sits them down – explains to them that he’d been investigating their mother’s death since he’d taken the twins in. Tells them about how there are people who call themselves hunters – about how they work around the clock to keep people of the public safe. People who can’t protect themselves. Joe has been a hunter since he discovered them – taking up hunts whenever his job will allow him the time (he still has a house to pay for and three kids to feed, after all). The gun, he explains, was specially made for killing demons - the Colt, he calls it.

At first, he doesn’t allow the twins to join him on hunts. Outright refuses. But they manage to sneak their way in, anyway – either by tailing Joe or doing their own research to find cases. Eventually, Joe realises that they’re far too stubborn to stop – intent in getting justice for their parents. So Joe does the only thing he can – he trains them. Teaches them the lore – teaches them how to defend themselves. Takes them along with them, because at least this way, Joe can look out for them during hunts.
