So based on some comments on the original image: I’m really NOT surprised that Satoshi Tajiri has made nods to the idea of helper pokemon throughout the franchise’s run. Of course battles are the main point (as a game) but pokemon as companions and helpers has been nodded to both in the game, comic and anime! I really wanted to focus on jobs we have for animals that i could translate for pokemon, than simply just companions (ie: Seeing eye dogs, owned pets who visit hospitals to cheer up patience etc)

The doodle on the right was inspired by this comic on a boy with a missing leg getting a puppy with a missing leg and in the end he loves the puppy. I imagine with pokemon as well, inspirations and companions to those with disabilities.

Bottom right is based on autistic children/people and their love for animals. I know a few about autistic children and horses and even some ranches who allow Autistic Children to ride horses as therapy for them. I imagine the same with pokemon. Both people with rideable pokemon along with parents who were ex-trainers who happen to have pokemon such as rapidash/ponyta/gogoat/etc
