It just drives me nuts that this one GCC artist does lovely designs on a normal basis, but when it comes to her GCC designs it looks like it took 5 minutes. Seriously, I could recreate that in five minutes, markings, shading and all.

I kind of think I know who you are talking about, because I noticed something like it too. But… I wouldn’t say it in such harsh words. Glad you didn’t name anyone, but this is still rather harsh. :(

Though I agree with the sentiment, some of the GCC work from some people lately feels really rushed while they continue to work on lines for their shops that look like a lot more time and effort went into them.

Not sure what the site is paying for GCC work, but maybe it’s just that badly paid that they can’t justify spending more than x hours on a single design?

Long story short… I get your point, but I wish you would have worded it in a way that actually gets the GCC artists to think about their work, rather than going on the defensive because they get called out like that.

The pay is relatively low + we now have to finish a full list to get paid, rather than getting paid whenever we finished one. I know it’s made a couple of the gcc artists feel like they need to rush, because some of us counted on that trickling income and now we don’t have it. 

Sometimes people also have very different ideas on what a theme means. Interpretation leaves a lot of room for artistic freedom, so the artist might believe it 100% relates to the theme when the person had a completely different thing in mind.

That’s not exactly true though? At least you don’t have to finish a whole list. When I was on the team ( until just recently when I stopped getting lists and had to hand in my resignation ) I only did designs one at a time and wouldn’t turn in another until after I was paid. It was just how I worked but I was paid one at a time? 

Slash changed it just recently, about a week week and a half ago. I’ve talked to a couple gcc artists that feel like now they just need to rush, because they needed the trickling money for things like gas.

Dude see this thing about getting paid for design confuses me since I became a GCC artist pretty soon after the job was offered and I was never paid by design, only when I finished the full list.

Which makes me feel like I kind of got trickered because I could have used that trickling income everyone else had, but I didn’t know everyone else was being paid that way, and I had to cancel a lot of plans because I wasn’t getting paid until every week and a half or two weeks it took me to finish my list.
