Because he’s so god damn loyal. As a fellow ridiculously loyal person, I really look up to him somehow. Shut up, I know he’s not real, but that doesn’t make him any less admirable.
His willingness to protect both his Captain and his crewmates is astonishing and… I cannot put into words how much I think this man is amazing.

Also, he makes a good nanny.
